If you live near DisneyWorld, or plan on going there for the Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that start today, and you’ve wondered, hey, wouldn’t it be cool to be frozen in carbonite just like Han Solo? Well, here’s your chance!
The ‘Carbon-Freeze Me’ experience will be available for those that want just that, but probably not quite the lifesize likeness as seen in The Empire Strikes Back. Still, it sounds like a very unique chance to get a likeness of yourself on a figurine, wouldn’t you say?
Here’s what Digital Spy had to say about it:
The attraction creates a person’s likeness to be made into a 3D eight-inch figurine of themselves being frozen in carbonite.
The Carbon-Freezing Chamber uses several cameras to capture different angles of a user’s face, which are then reconstructed for a figurine that will be sent out by post four weeks later, the Disney Parks blog confirmed.
Each figurine costs $99.95 plus shipping, with additional figures of the same image costing $74.95 each. Guests will also receive a light-up wristband. Reservations are required in advance.
The experience will open with the launch of Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 18.
Star Wars Weekends will run from May 18th through Saturday, June 16th.
Please note, according to the Disney Blog site, a reservation is required and can be made by calling 407-WDW-TECH (407-939-8324).
