I know I wouldn’t mind getting this as an engagement present, and I’m not even into steampunk all that much!
It was created by Mark a.k.a. Broken Journalist to give to his fiancée as an engagement present. She must be a big Star Wars and steampunk fan because I don’t know many girls that would be happy to get something like this as an engagement present. That’s a special kind of geek girl.
This has got to be one of the most brilliant guest “appearances” ever!
OH YES! David Tennant is officially joining the Star Wars universe! But will the character he’s voicing get his fantastic hair? We’ve got the photo reveal after the jump.
Although several other actors from sci-fi stardom have been on the show, IGN.com says the Doctor Who actor is the first Doctor to appear on Clone Wars. The episode will air this Saturday on Cartoon Network.
“The episode continues the story arc begun last week, as a group of young Jedi set out to build their first lightsabers. The former Doctor Who star will voice Huyang, a droid who is a crucial part of this journey,” writes IGN. And here’s what he’ll look like.
Are you excited about this? If haven’t been watching Clone Wars, will this make you do so?

It seems that not just the fans were shocked and outraged about it. Well, at least at first.
Hamill told EW that Lucas contacted him and Fisher over the summer regarding a new trilogy. His initial reaction was, “What? Are you nuts?!” But the actor admits, he can see the reasoning behind the idea.
“In a way, there was a beginning, a middle, and an end and we all lived happily ever after and that’s the way it should be—and it’s great that people have fond memories, if they do have fond memories,” Hamill said. “But on the other hand, there’s this ravenous desire on the part of the true believers to have more and more and more material. It’s one of those things: people either just don’t care for it or are passionate about it.”
In regards to Disney acquiring Lucasfilm, Hamill was as shocked as the rest of us. He had no idea Lucas was handing the company over. “I have mixed feelings about that, but they haven’t done badly by Marvel and the Muppets and Pixar. It’s one of those big decisions that at first seems unusual but then the more you look at it, the more it makes sense.”
Thanks to Blastr for the heads up.
So, Lucas’ statement that the money that he will gain from the sell of Star Wars wasn’t for his retirement fund.
You know that Disney just bought Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion and all the star wars that come with it. George Lucas was the sole owner of Lucasfilm, and so all 4.05 billion dollars go to him. Lucas has spent the last four decades minting money with the Star Wars franchise, and so thankfully can afford to be generous. A Lucasfilm spokesperson tells THR that Lucas plans to “donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavors.”
Lucas is the chairman of Edutopia, a part of the George Lucas Educational Foundation and likeliest candidate to receive the donation. Lucas is staying true to his 2010 pledge: “I am dedicating the majority of my wealth to improving education. It is the key to the survival of the human race.” More after the jump.

I guess if you think of them more as Han, Leia, and Luke, this picture would be quite uncomfortable, or at least awkward. However, if you look at them as Harrison, Carrie, and Mark, then it’s actually humorous. Mark’s character hardly ever gets to have any fun during the trilogy, so I’m sure he finds ways to make things enjoyable when off screen. By the way, it seems that Harrison, being the oldest of the three, has found gum at the bottom of his shoe.

It’s that time of the year where we wish our fathers a Happy Father’s Day. Well, that is, unless you have Darth Vader for a father, and you might want to reconsider. Obviously, he’s not someone to look up to, but we wouldn’t be the Star Wars fandom if we didn’t recognize his importance in our little universe. So, Happy Father’s Day to good ole’ Ani (he did redeem himself in the end, you know!)

One thing’s for sure is that there’s not enough Winnie the Pooh influence in our fandoms. But when there is, it must be shown to as many people as possible, especially when it relates to Star Wars.

In a time where grainy film is detested and sleek, glossy, and digital is all the rage, it’s still nice to see grainy footage when it pertains to old classic films. Here we have grainy footage that a fan was able to shoot during the filming of a scene from Return of the Jedi. Unfortunately, there is no audio to this footage, however, The Mary Sue site added some other videos that you can play to listen to whilst watching said footage.
But here’s the video if you just want to see the video without the audio distraction:
